This course is designed to teach procurement or evaluation teams how to evaluate software for compliance to the Software Accessibility Guidelines. The course covers lecture and hands on verification both visual and using "Freely" available tools for discerning accessibility of a software product.

• Introduction to The different barriers to Web accessibility

• Complete Walkthrough/Lecture of All of the Section 508 Standards for Software Applications

• Identifying Accessibility Issues

• Reporting accessibility issues to vendors

• Defining your test plan

• Performing visual tests and automated tests

• Introduction to Microsoft Active Accessibility Tools

What you will learn:

After successful completion of training, a student will be aware of what issues are common to inaccessible design and have the knowledge to evaluate and report errors to vendors. This course is a good prerequisite to the AccVerify Training offered by HiSoftware.
