State of Maine Selects HiSoftware
Content Quality and Accessibility

Concord, NH October 20, 2004 –
HiSoftware Company, the leader in

State of Maine has selected AccVerify,
AccRepair and AccMonitor Server from
HiSoftware Company to assist State Web
masters in managing their Section 508
compliance, and content quality
initiatives. HiSoftware solutions
provide “out-of-the-box” testing and
reporting for Accessibility, Privacy,
Searchability and Usability standards,
empowering organizations to keep up
with ever-changing Web technologies
and standards. The software will be
used to evaluate, remediate and
monitor State of Maine web sites and
Web applications for content quality
standards and conformance with
accessibility guidelines.

state government agencies turning to

Under
the terms of the agreement, HiSoftware
Company will provide an enterprise
license of its AccMonitor Server
software to the State of Maine for use
by its webmasters, application
developers, and Section 508 compliance
experts. AccMonitor is an automated
content quality and accessibility
testing solution for Web sites, or for
use in conjunction with intranet
servers or file servers. AccMonitor is
a server solution that is designed to
run with no user interaction once
configured. AccMonitor can be
scheduled to crawl Web sites daily,
weekly, or monthly. It also allows
users to log-on for “on demand”
reports on the accessibility status of
their Web pages.
State
of Maine Web application developers
will also be able to utilize
HiSoftware’s user-driven interactive
desktop solutions, AccVerify and
AccRepair to test and remediate their
projects for compliance with Section
508 and other content quality
standards. These solutions also
include the AccVerify Link Validation
Utility, which assists with quality
and accessibility assurance by
scanning and analyzing web content for
broken links, producing detailed
reports to help developers and quality
assurance professionals pinpoint and
fix content, interaction, and
usability defects.
Section 508, an amendment to the
Rehabilitation Act of 1973, requires
electronic and information technology
that is used, developed, and procured
by the Federal government to be
accessible to people with
disabilities.
