Maryland State Department of Education-Division of Rehabilitation Services Selects HiSoftware Content Quality and Accessibility Solutions

Concord, NH November 09, 2004 – HiSoftware Company, the leader in enterprise content quality management solutions, announced today that the Maryland State Department of Education-Division of Rehabilitation Services (DORS) has selected AccVerify and AccRepair from HiSoftware Company to assist State Web masters in managing their Section 508 compliance, and content quality initiatives. HiSoftware solutions provide “out-of-the-box” testing and reporting for Accessibility, Privacy, Searchability and Usability standards, empowering organizations to keep up with ever-changing Web technologies and standards. The software will be used to evaluate, remediate and monitor State of Maryland DORS web sites and Web applications for content quality standards and conformance with accessibility guidelines.

Under the terms of the agreement, licensed Web site and application developers will also be able to utilize HiSoftware’s user-driven interactive desktop solutions, AccVerify and AccRepair to test and remediate their projects for compliance with Section 508 and other content quality standards. These solutions also include the AccVerify Link Validation Utility, which assists with quality and accessibility assurance by scanning and analyzing web content for broken links, producing detailed reports to help developers and quality assurance professionals pinpoint and fix content, interaction, and usability defects.

Section 508, an amendment to the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, requires electronic and information technology that is used, developed, and procured by the Federal government to be accessible to people with disabilities.
