Expanded Link
Validation Utility Extends HiSoftware
Accessibility, Search and Content
Quality Product Lines
New solution deliver essential site
management for enterprise Web sites
Concord, NH
—January 31, 2003-HiSoftware, Inc.,
the leader in enterprise content
quality management solutions,
announced today its Link Validation
Utility. The newest addition to the
enterprise content quality product
family creates additional validation
measures for the usability of
enterprise Web sites. The Link
Validation Utility allows for
“spidering” a web site, locating all
of the links and reporting whether
these links point to valid targets. It
assists with quality and accessibility
assurance by scanning and analyzing
web content for broken links,
producing detailed reports to help
developers and quality assurance
professionals pinpoint and fix
content, interaction, and usability
defects. This application is designed
to be completely accessible to users
requiring assistive technology.
HiSoftware content
quality solutions provide
“out-of-the-box” testing and reporting
for Accessibility, Privacy,
Searchability and Usability standards,
empowering organizations to keep up
with ever-changing Web technologies
and standards. The value-added Link
Validation tool provides structure and
organization validation to your site,
allowing both content and site
structure to be of the highest
quality.
The Link
Validation Utility allows users to
find and fix broken links, broken
anchors, and other site defects. It
assists in the process of creating a
complete “Site Inventory” providing
managers with a better understanding
of their Web sites with information on
site size, file types in use, mail
links, and identify where you may be
linking to third party sites.
The link
validation utility provides critical
web site management capabilities to
Web Managers concerned with usability,
accessibility, privacy and
searchability of their Web sites.
Broken links and missing images can
create a negative experience for users
of a Web site. As Web sites increase
in size, it becomes increasingly
difficult to keep an accurate
inventory of content that has been
changed over time. Additionally, many
search engines rate the “popularity”
of a page, based on the number of
links that reference a particular
page. Inadvertent “overuse” of links
to a particular page may
unintentionally skew search results.
The utility is
available for download from
HiSoftware, with a basic version
available at no cost, and will also be
available as a licensed application
integrated across HiSoftware’s product
lines. More information is available
