HiSoftware’s
Content Quality & Accessibility
Software, AccVerify SE for FrontPage,
available to Internal Revenue Service
Web developers
Concord, NH
December 3, 2002 – HiSoftware Company
announced today that the U.S. Internal
Revenue Service (IRS) will make
version 5.0 of HiSoftware’s AccVerify
SE for FrontPage available for
download by IRS Web developers through
its Intranet.
This software is available through a
strategic relationship between
HiSoftware Company and Microsoft
Corporation and provides FrontPage
users with the ability to test their
Web sites for complete conformance
with content quality standards for
search, usability and custom
organizational policies as well as
accessibility standards mandated by
Section 508 of the federal
government's Rehabilitation Act and
the international accessibility
guidelines set forth by the World Wide
Web Consortium (W3C).
Release 5 of AccVerify SE tests
FrontPage Web content against
standards for accessibility,
searchability, usability and custom
content quality factors. For example,
custom quality tests include the
ability for users to take advantage of
pre-configured “alt-text” quality
tests or to define their own
organizational standard for this test.
AccVerify SE allows an organization’s
experts and/or policy managers to
define content policies and then
provide a solution to validate
compliance with these policies. The
final result is a complete and concise
report on the total accessibility,
quality and policy compliance status
of content that has been tested.
The IRS recently awarded a purchase
agreement to HiSoftware Company for
its AccMonitor Server enterprise
software testing solutions, after
evaluating several Section 508
compliance products for implementation
as an enterprise-level NT server-based
508 monitoring and evaluation tool.
“We are very pleased to provide the
Internal Revenue Service with software
solutions that will empower their
users to keep up with ever-changing
Web technologies and standards,” said
Robert B. Yonaitis, HiSoftware Company
CEO and President. “AccVerify SE
provides an excellent introduction to
HiSoftware content verification
technology for users of Microsoft
FrontPage. This solution assists in
educating Web developers on the
importance of Web design that complies
with organizational policies for Web
content.”
HiSoftware’ commercial product line
includes a combination of user-driven
interactive desktop solutions that
allow developers to test their content
for conformance with standards, and
server-side applications that allow
for automated and remote testing. A
scalable architecture provides a
faster deployment time and lower cost
of ownership for the solution set.
