Experts Join HiSoftware Advisory
Committee Supporting Expansion of
HiSoftware’s Educational and Global
Outreach Initiatives
Concord, NH February
24, 2003 – HiSoftware Company, today
announced that Cynthia D. Waddell, JD,
the Executive Director of the non-profit
International Center for Disability
Resources on the Internet, and
Emmanuelle Gutiérrez y Restrepo,
Vice-president and Executive Director of
SIDAR, have joined the Advisory
Committee of HiSoftware, Inc. The
addition of these new committee members
will support the expansion of
HiSoftware’s educational and
International outreach programs and
initiatives.
HiSoftware’s advisory committee is made
up of subject matter experts/advisors
from Government agencies, educational
institutions, private industry, advocacy
organizations, and the disabled
community. Committee members are and
have been extremely influential in their
work with Web content quality and
accessibility. Committee members are
asked to provide consultation, from time
to time, on HiSoftware product plans and
architecture, strategy and direction.
Ms Waddell is a nationally and
internationally recognized expert in the
field of electronic and information
technology. She has worked as an ADA
consultant for university and government
entities and has lectured at various
universities, presented at international
conferences, received numerous awards,
served on several boards and published a
number of papers on law and policy for
information technology. Her seminal
paper, “The Growing Digital Divide in
Access for People with Disabilities:
Overcoming Barriers to Participation,”
was commissioned by the US government
and has been translated and cited by
foreign governments, universities,
disability organizations and entities
around the world.

Ms. Gutiérrez y Restrepo is responsible
for the Normalization of User Interfaces
for Disability working group, of AENOR
(Spanish Association of Certification
and Normalization). She is a member of
the Technical Group of the Ibero-American
Seminar on Disability and Social
Communication and she regularly presents
at conferences and national and
international congresses in the field of
Internet accessibility, communication
about disability, and the application of
new technologies to managerial
communication. As a communication
consultant, she advises diverse
companies and institutions about using
the Internet for communication.
