Defense Logistics Agency Extends Licensing Agreement for HiSoftware Web Management Solutions

Concord, NH December 7, 2004 –HiSoftware Company announced today that the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), has extended its licensing agreement for HiSoftware Company content quality and accessibility solutions. This extends a licensing agreement that the DLA originally entered into in October 2002 through the end of the 2005 fiscal year. Through this agreement, both HiSoftware Company’s desktop and back-end server side software solutions will be utilized for evaluation, remediation and ongoing monitoring of DLA intranet web sites and Web applications for conformance to both statutory and organizational accessibility and content quality standards.
Under the terms of the agreement, HiSoftware Company will provide its AccVerify, AccRepair and AccMonitor Server software to DLA for use by its webmasters, application developers, and compliance experts. In addition to “out-of-the-box” testing and reporting for Accessibility, Privacy, Metadata, Site Structure and Usability standards, HiSoftware solutions allow an organization’s experts and/or policy managers to define content policies and then provides a solution to validate compliance with these policies. HiSoftware’s end-to-end software solutions enable customers to proactively manage online privacy. HiSoftware solutions allow users to monitor Web sites for data collection, security and sharing practices, opt-in and opt-out choices, broken links, missing privacy policies, third party linking, P3P and the use of tracking technologies. The final result is a complete and concise report on the total accessibility, quality and policy compliance status of content that has been tested.

DLA Web application developers will utilize HiSoftware’s back-end automated AccMonitor Server for scheduled and on demand testing as well as HiSoftware’s user-driven interactive desktop solutions, AccVerify and AccRepair to test and remediate their projects for compliance with Section 508 accessibility standards, Section 208 privacy standards, and other content quality standards. HiSoftware’s accessibility testing solutions test for over 187 comprehensive accessibility checks and for the level of compliance recommended by the U.S Government's Section 508 legislation. These solutions also include HiSoftware Link Validation Utility, which assists with quality and accessibility assurance by scanning and analyzing web content for broken links, producing detailed reports to help developers and quality assurance professionals pinpoint and fix content, interaction, and usability defects. Through this agreement, the DLA team also licenses HiSoftware Hi-Caption solutions for multimedia captioning.

The Defense Logistics Agency joins a growing list of Federal government agencies turning to HiSoftware Company for content quality and accessibility compliance solutions, including the U.S. Army Materiel Command, Internal Revenue Service and Department of Defense. HiSoftware Company also works with Fortune 1000 corporations including Microsoft Corporation, Mercury Interactive, and Fidelity Investments, State and local government agencies and educational institutions: http://www.hisoftware.com/access/scustomers.html
