Commonwealth of Kentucky Governor’s Office for Technology Selects HiSoftware Content Quality and Accessibility Solutions

Concord, NH April 30, 2003 – HiSoftware Company, the leader in enterprise content quality management solutions, announced today that the Commonwealth of Kentucky Governor’s Office for Technology will be implementing AccVerify, AccRepair and AccMonitor Server from HiSoftware Company to manage its Section 508 compliance, and content quality initiatives. Under the terms of the agreement, HiSoftware Company will provide an enterprise license of its AccMonitor Server software to the Commonwealth of Kentucky Governor’s Office for Technology for use by its webmasters, application developers, and Section 508 compliance experts. AccMonitor is an automated content quality and accessibility testing solution for Web sites or for use in conjunction with intranet servers or file servers. AccMonitor is a server solution that is designed to run with no user interaction once configured. AccMonitor can be scheduled to crawl Web sites daily, weekly, or monthly. It also allows users to log-on for “on demand” reports on the accessibility status of their Web pages. Commonwealth of Kentucky Governor’s Office for Technology Web application developers will also be able to utilize HiSoftware’s user-driven interactive desktop solutions, AccVerify and AccRepair, and AccVerify and AccRepair for Microsoft FrontPage to test and remediate their projects for compliance with Section 508 and other content quality standards. These solutions also include the new HiSoftware Link Validation Utility, which assists with quality and accessibility assurance by scanning and analyzing web content for broken links, producing detailed reports to help developers and quality assurance professionals pinpoint and fix content, interaction, and usability defects.

Section 508, an amendment to the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, requires electronic and information technology that is used, developed, and procured by the Federal government to be accessible to people with disabilities.
